ABT’s Audi A7 won’t win a drag race against an RS5 Sportback, but it will get to the finish line in style, and faster than the stock model. The most important upgraded from the tuner is the addition of their in-house developed engine control unit (ECU), to the 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine. Rated at 340 PS and 500 Nm of torque straight from the factory, it’s now good for 425 PS and 550 Nm of torque, or 25 percent more, according to ABT.

The extra muscle should help the tuned Audi A7 reach 100 km/h faster than the stock model, which needs 5.3 seconds, while top speed probably remains the same, electronically limited at 250 km/h.

As for the styling improvements, they’re limited to the aftermarket wheels. This particular Audi A7 rides on massive 22-inch rims made by ABT, in a ten-spoke Y-pattern design. The tuner says other wheels are available, too, from their FR and GR lines, which give the car “a perfect look for a great impression”.

This isn’t the last time we’ll hear about the second-gen Audi A7 Sportback from ABT Sportsline, as they have already announced a similar upgrade for the 3.0-liter TDI diesel engine. In the 50 TDI model, the V6 makes 286 PS and 620 Nm of torque, and is paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This model can reach 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds from a standstill, and is said to burn 5.5 l/100 km (42.8 mpg US / 51.4 mpg UK) on average, according to the NEDC.
