The new BMW M5 Competition is like the “regular” M5 – which is no slouch as
it is – but more so. How much more so, you ask? Try 625 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque on for size. Channeled
from a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to all four wheels through an eight-speed
automatic transmission.
All it takes is 3.3 seconds to reach 100
km/h from a standstill, and 10.8 to reach 200 km/h. Those are
supercar figures (or at least would have been just a few years ago), and you
can bring three or four of your best friends or family members along for the
ride. And that trick M xDrive switchable traction system helps ensure it’ll go
as well through the corners (sideways) as it will in a straight line.
