Kia will open the order books for the third
generation Ceed on August 1, in the United Kingdom. In the meantime however, they
have also detailed the hatchback’s range, which features four distinct trim
levels, starting with the ‘2’ that can be had from £ 18,295 (US$ 24,010). Cruise
control with speed limiter, air conditioning, dusk-sensing headlights, heated
side mirrors, leather trimmed steering wheel, gearshift and hand brake lever,
rear center armrest and others are offered as standard.
The list includes a 7-inch infotainment system,
Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, DAB radio, Bluetooth with voice recognition,
16-inch alloy wheels and front fog lights, too. Driving assistance features
offered at no extra cost are the Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning,
Hill Start Assist Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist-City and High
Beam Assist.
Upgrade to the ‘Blue Edition’ version from £ 21,095
(US$ 27,684), and see your new Kia Ceed gain 17-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy
glass, electrically folding side mirrors with LED indicators, rear parking
sensors and LED headlights.
Inside, this grade adds black cloth seat trim with
black faux leather bolsters, stainless steel pedals, USB fast charger, 8-inch
infotainment with sat-nav, Kia Connected Services with TomTom Live and drive
mode select for cars equipped with the dual-clutch seven-speed transmission.
While pricing for the grade ‘3’ has yet to be
announced, Kia says this variant brings 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass,
rain-sensing wipers, 8-inch infotainment with sat-nav, dual-zone climate
control, auto-dimming rear view mirror and a 4.2-inch supervision cluster. It
also comes with a dual-tone horn and a few front end upgrades, alongside
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection for models with a
six-speed manual gearbox.
Sitting at the top of the new-gen Kia Ceed range is
the ‘First Edition’ grade, with its black leather seats with grey stitching,
heated and ventilated front seats, sunroof, electronic parking brake, heated
steering wheel, JBL premium sound system and wireless mobile phone charger.

Information Function, Lane Following Assist (on DCT models only) and Forward
Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection are standard too.
Ultimately, the First Edition can be had from £ 25,750 (US$ 33,793).
As for the new Kia Ceed’s available engines, there’s
an updated 1.0-liter petrol unit with 118 PS, a new 1.4-liter
that replaces the old 1.6-liter mill and makes 138 PS, plus a
1.6-liter diesel, rated at 114 PS (and 280 Nm of torque.
