Pagani has unveiled the latest Huayra Roadster to
leave its factory during ‘The Quail – A Motorsport Gathering’ as part of
Monterrey Car Week. Dubbed the Huayra Roadster Gyrfalcon, the Italian hypercar
takes its name from the largest of all falcon species that’s known as a fast
and ferocious hunter.
Unlike some special edition Paganis in the past
which have received unique sames simply for the heck of it, the Roadster
Gyrfalcon actually takes clear design inspiration from white gyrfalcons. As such, most of its exterior is
painted white like the bird’s feathers with elements of exposed carbon fiber
reminiscent of the gyrfalcon’s spotted black wings. Last, but not least, the
Huayra Roadster Gyrfalcon has bright yellow accents just as the bird of prey
has yellow feet, a yellow beak and yellow around its eyes.
Taking inspiration from a bird and applying it to a
supercar may sound strange, but it actually works surprisingly well. No images offering a full view of
the interior have been published, however the two close-up shots below also
reveal that the car has yellow gyrfalcon graphics stitched into the leather
door panels. Other blue, white, and yellow trimmings can also be seen
throughout.
Introduced at 2017’s Geneva Motor Show, the Huayra
Roadster is powered by a Mercedes-AMG 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 delivering 754
hp at 6200 rpm and more than 1000 Nm of torque from 2400 rpm. Remarkably, the Huayra Roadster
is a hefty 80 kg lighter than the Huayra Coupe, tipping the scales at
just 1280 kg.
