Malaysia has received an updated version of the
Proton Ertiga (Maruti Ertiga) called the Proton Ertiga Xtra. Here are the new
version’s images, courtesy Paultan. The Proton Ertiga Xtra is
available in three configurations: Executive MT, Executive AT and Premium AT.
The latter replaces the Premium Plus AT configuration of the Ertiga. With
prices starting at RM 56,773*, the Ertiga Xtra costs around
RM 3,000* more than the Ertiga.
The differences are limited to the interior, where
the Xtra version features upholstery in a darker shade of brown and a 7-inch
touchscreen infotainment system in place of a 2-DIN head unit. All three
configurations have the new infotainment system, but GPS navigation function is
included in only the Premium AT configuration.
Other features such as 15-inch alloy wheels, front
fog lamps and manual AC with rear vents are still standard. On the safety
front, all three configurations are equipped with ABS with EBD, ISOFIX
child-seat anchor points (second-row seats) and dual airbags (driver and
co-driver).
The Ertiga Xtra uses the same 1.4-litre VVT petrol
engine as the Proton Ertiga. This naturally aspirated four-cylinder mill
develops 91 hp at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual
or 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels. The three-row MPV
has a fuel consumption rating of 6.0 L/100 km (16.67 km/l).
