Tata Motors has
introduced Apple CarPlay on the Tata Nexon. New deliveries of the Nexon are
reported to have this feature while existing owners can get a software update
at the dealership which will bring CarPlay onto the 6.5-inch touchscreen. The
software update is reported to take 30 mins to install.
In April this year,
Tata Motors rolled out an update for the Nexon's entertainment system and some
aspects of its hardware. In that update, silicon pads were inserted in the
headlamp housing to keep the wiring harness from touching the projector unit,
issues with Bluetooth connectivity and 'freezing' of the touchscreen were
addressed, and finally, the plastic battery cover of the key fob available with
the Smart Key on the XZ+ trim was replaced as well.
The Tata Nexon is
available with a 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter
Revotorq diesel engine. Both engines are available with a 6-speed manual or
6-speed automated manual transmission driving the front wheels. The petrol is
good for 110 PS and 170 Nm of torque, and the diesel is rated at 110 PS and 260
Nm of torque.
Tata offers 7 trim
levels on the petrol and diesel, and the top-end XZ+ is also available with a
contrast roof as an option. The Tata Nexon rivals the Maruti Vitara Brezza and
Ford EcoSport. It is priced from INR 6.15 lakhs to INR 9.61 lakhs for the
Revotron petrol variants and INR 7.18 lakhs to INR 10.59 lakhs for the Revotorq
diesel models, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
