The Tata Tigor JTP is undergoing road testing in Coimbatore, where Jayem Automotives, the company initiating this model, is headquartered. RushLane has posted spy shots and says that the launch will take place by Diwali this year.

The Tata Tigor JTP is the Tata Tigor’s performance variant co-developed by JT Special Vehicles, a 50n:50 joint venture between Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives. Introduced at Auto Expo 2018, the JTP variant gets a more aggressive styling, a more capable engine and a stiffer suspension setup.

The Tata Tigor JTP stands out with an edgier front bumper, unique radiator grille and lower air intake in gloss black finish, gloss black fog lamp housing, bonnet vents, faux fender vents and boot lid garnish, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, side skirts, red ORVM caps, distinctive rear bumper with gloss black inserts and twin-tip exhaust tailpipe. Also, there's a red JTP logo on the upper grille, fake fender vents and tailgate.

Inside, red highlights on the air vents and red stitching on the leather seats and steering complement the all-black theme. Another special feature is the inclusion of aluminium pedals. The Tata Tigor JTP sports a turbocharged version of the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine. This version delivers 110 PS at 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 2,000-4,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with optimised gear ratios. The JTP variant has a 35 mm lower ride height. A 9 mm lower ground clearance (161 mm) and fatter 185/60 R15 tyres aid in better handling.

The Tata Tigor JTP will cost around INR 8 lakh, as per the report. The regular Tata Tigor’s prices start at INR 4.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
