Toyota showcased a dual-tone, matte finished; off-road focused Toyota Fortuner at the GIIAS 2018 earlier this month. The Fortuner also featured TRD Sportivo parts including a redesigned front bumper, a silver skid plate, side step, a roof carrier with LED lights, rear skid plate, rear spoiler and TRD branding on the sides.

While the body colour of the Fortuner is matte grey, it features a white contrast roof and red TRD stripes towards the rear door and bumper. It gets off-road tyres and wheels, which feature red highlights continuing the design theme. There are no changes to the interior of the SUV.


The second generation Fortuner which was launched in India in November 2016, and is offered with petrol and diesel engines. The former is a 2.7-liter Dual VVT-i four-cylinder unit (also seen on the Toyota Innova) with 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque, while the latter is a 2.8-liter four-cylinder unit making 177 PS and 420 Nm of torque (450 Nm with an AT). While the petrol gets 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic as gearbox options, the diesel offers 6-speed manual and automatic choices. The petrol is available only with 2WD whereas the diesel also comes with 4WD capability.

The Fortuner is priced between INR 26.69 lakhs to INR 28.38 lakhs for the petrol and INR 28.29 lakhs to INR 32.48 lakhs for the diesel, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. With the festive season just around the corner, Toyota could launch a special edition on the Fortuner to create some buzz around the product during this time, which sees a spike in vehicle sales.
