The Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo edition
was showcased at the GIIAS 2018 last week. As seen in these images, the sedan
gets the full TRD treatment for a sportier appearance, with mechanicals left
unchanged.
The front sees a red highlight for the bumper
complemented with an underlip spoiler. The side profile sees larger, diamond
cut alloy wheels, side skirts and a piano-black finish for the wing mirrors,
pillars and the roof. The rear gets a bootlid spoiler, TRD badges on the
bootlid, and a sportier bumper with a faux diffuser.
All variants of the Vios are powered by
the 2NR-FE, four-cylinder, Dual VVT-i 1.5-liter petrol engine capable of 107 PS
and 140 Nm of torque. All variants are offered with a 6-speed manual or a
7-step CVT. The manual variant claims a mileage of 17.1 km/l while the CVT
returns a higher 17.8 km/l.
Features on the Vios include
15-inch alloy wheels, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED
taillights, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, a 7-inch LED touchscreen
entertainment system with Gesture Control, USB, MirrorLink, HDMI, Bluetooth, SD
Card access and Wi-Fi capability, GPS, leather seats, automatic climate
control, cooled glovebox, roof-mounted AC vents, 8-way power-adjustable
driver’s seat, cruise control, paddle shifters, automatic wipers and smart
entry with push start button. All variants get seven airbags, ABS, EBD and
brake assist.
