Wald International’s proposal for the new generation
Lexus LS includes two distinct tuning programs. The first one is simply called
‘Standard’ and, surprisingly, moves away from the Japanese tuner’s usual
projects.
However, that doesn’t mean that it’s discreet. Because it gets a front apron with integrated LED DRLs, widened front
fenders, new side skirt set, trunk lid spoiler and rear diffuser with LED brake
lamp.
The second is based on the F Sport trim level and
comes with pretty much the same updates as the aforementioned bundle of
upgrades, only more aggressively executed. Wald says the exterior parts are
made of ABS plastic, suit both the LS 500 and LS 500h, and can be easily
installed using the existing factory mounting points.
For an extra buck, the tuner can add an exhaust
system with quad tailpipes for the LS 500, which is said to provide the car
with a more aggressive sound and improved throttle response during
acceleration.
The final upgrade comes in the form of two wheel
pattern choices, called I12-C and T22-C, from 20- to 22-inch in size. Wald
International recommends the 9.5×22-inch front and 11.5×22-inch rear rims, shod
in wide tires, for the ultimate visual effect.
Lexus’ flagship doesn’t get any performance
modifications, so the LS 500 is still good for 415 horsepower, whereas the LS
500h hybrid has to make do with 354 hp.
