Based on the expectations for the next generation of
the entry-level Bajaj Pulsar, IAB’s automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania has
created a digital image of the Bajaj Pulsar LS 125. For starters, the motorcycle may
benefit from a Bajaj Pulsar NS range inspired fascia and feature a sharper
design for the headlight.
From the sides, the silhouette of the Pulsar LS 135
is evident, although the LS 125 is expected to bring some refreshment to the
design with a slightly tweaked bodywork.
The new fuel tank design, for example, may surround the fuel knob to add
a premium touch to the motorcycle. The fuel tank shrouds are not likely to go
anywhere, and thus they have been retained in the same shape as the LS 135 to
add a muscular persona to the motorcycle. To keep things fresh, the motorcycle
is imagined with new graphics.
Adding a pinch of modern design is the Discover
range inspired alloy wheels that have replaced the standard five-spoke design
of the LS 135 in this digital render. The tyre profile, however, is not likely
to be different from the LS 135 and thus we expect to see the 2.75 x 17 section
rubber at the front and 100 / 90 x 17 unit at the rear. Both wheels would most
certainly come wrapped in MRF tyres.
The front fender, unlike the LS 135, is imagined to
have a full black finish instead of having a dual-tone paint job. At the rear
is a Pulsar NS range inspired tyre hugger with a single sided attachment. Rest of the hardware is standard
to keep prices competitive. Thus you’d find a conventional telescopic front
suspension at the front and dual Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. Braking
duties would most likely be carried forward by the setup of the Pulsar LS 135 -
a 240 mm disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum unit at the rear. The saddle
will be a single piece unit instead of a split seat.
On the new entry Pulsar, expect to see the same
124.5 cc, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine that delivers 11 bhp of maximum power @
7,500 rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque @ 5,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a
five-speed gearbox.
