Maserati’s updated 2019 Levante is now available in Malaysia. The MY19 SUV is offered
by Naza Italia as a petrol-powered Maserati Levante S in GranSport and
GranLusso trims. MY19 improvements include the adoption of a redesigned shift
lever with shorter travel and improved operation (dual-lane shift pattern and
new P button).
With the new
gearshift lever, the adjacent drive mode cluster is made more user-friendly,
Maserati claims. The M button is no more, and the Off-Road mode button has
taken its place. This leaves space for two separate buttons – instead of one –
for the selection of the Sport driving mode and the Skyhook suspension sport
setting. The selectable modes are Off-Road, I.C.E. (Increased Control &
Efficiency) and Sport.
The MY19 Levante’s
infotainment system has been mildly tweaked with improved graphics and more
user-friendly climate control functions. The button that deactivates Start-Stop
can now be dragged and dropped on the main screen for easy access. The electric
tilt and slide panoramic sunroof is standard on all Naza Italia-specced cars.
The GranSport trim
gets new front and rear bumpers inspired by the Levante GTS and Trofeo. For the
Malaysian market, the Levante S sports 21-inch Helios wheels and “High Gloss
Metal Weave” interior trim. The sporty trim level’s exterior also comes with
front and rear Black Piano inserts, GranSport badges on the front fenders and
red brake calipers. The luxury GranLusso trim gets chrome inserts on the face,
chrome front/rear skid plates, a body colour rear spoiler, silver-painted brake
calipers and GranLusso badges on the fenders.
GranLusso also
offers the choice of full premium Italian leather, Pieno Fiore natural leather
or Ermenegildo Zegna silk upholstery. It includes 12-way powered front seats
with memory, a Bowers and Wilkins Surround Sound System, illuminated doorsills,
parking sensors, navigation and soft closing doors.
The powertrain is
untouched, which means there’s a 430 hp/580 Nm 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6
manufactured by Ferrari under the hood, mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic
transmission. 0 to 100 km/h is done in 5.2 seconds and top speed is 264 km/h.
One can choose from
11 colours, including a new tri-coat Blu Nobile with sparkling glass flakes.
The recently introduced Nerissimo package combines black elements (front
grille, skid plates, daylight opening and door mirrors) with dark tail lights
and exhaust tips.
The 2019 Maserati
Levante S starts from RM 788,800. Buying from Naza Italia gets you three years
of standard warranty coverage with no mileage restriction plus a Maserati
Premium Service Plus package of three years or 60,000 km.
