The Nissan Pathfinder is entering the 2019 model
year with a host of driver assistance systems which are now standard on lower
grade models. Starting with the entry-level Pathfinder S, pricing begins at US$ 31,230
which is a modest increase of US$ 190. Changes are minor as the only updates
include a new Mocha Almond Pearl paint job, a newly standard backup sensing
system and two USB Type C ports.
Since the model largely carries over, it continues
to feature halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights and 18-inch alloy
wheels. The seven-seat interior has cloth seats, a tri-zone automatic climate
control system and an infotainment system with an 8-inch display. Other
highlights include a six-speaker audio system, cruise control and power windows
and locks.
The Pathfinder SV starts at US$ 34,270 and it comes
equipped with newly standard driver assistance systems such as Intelligent
Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The model also
has speed sensitive windshield wipers, an eight-way power driver’s seat and
illuminated vanity mirrors. Other highlights include a HomeLink universal
transceiver and a Nissan Intelligent Key with remote start. The Pathfinder SL packs on the
luxury features and it is priced from US$ 37,920. However, the only new addition
for 2019 is newly standard LED headlights.
Besides the headlights, the crossover has heated
exterior mirrors and a power liftgate. Inside, the model comes equipped with
leather upholstery, heated front seats and a four-way power front passenger
seat. Other highlights include GPS navigation, additional metallic trim and an
Intelligent Around View Monitor.
The range-topping Pathfinder Platinum starts at US$ 42,570 and comes nicely equipped with 20-inch wheels, additional chrome trim
and a “Dual Panorama moonroof.” The model also has heated / ventilated front
seats, a 13-speaker Bose audio system and wood grain interior trim.
Regardless of which trim level is selected, all
Pathfinders are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 284 hp and 350 Nm of torque. It is connected to an Xtronic
continuously variable transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel
drive system for an additional US$ 1,690. The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder is
currently on sale at dealerships across the United States.
