Say the name ‘Bruiser Conversions’ and, if you’ve
been following the tuning scene or are a fan of Jeep’s icon, the first thing
that you’ll think of is probably the Wrangler 6×6. The stunning creation that goes
against other six-wheeled SUVs was shown last year at SEMA in Las Vegas, and
welcomes a lot of custom parts that make it a true off-road monster.
Now, Bruiser Conversions have unveiled the Honcho,
which is yet another Jeep Wrangler. Only this one has ‘just’ two axles, just
like Merc did with its 6×6 and 4×4 G-Wagen.
The new Bruiser Honcho is one serious ride, with a
retro-styled front end, steel bumpers, winch, custom bed with integrated
roll-bar, new suspension and a very generous ground clearance. It also gets a
roof-mounted auxiliary light bar, new rims wrapped in huge off-road tires, a
removable hard top said to use the factory freedom panels, and additional
storage inside, behind the rear seats that can fold down.
Bruiser Conversions haven’t cut down on power
either, as this Jeep Wrangler is coming with a choice of two engines. The first
is the LS3 V8 from General Motors, while those that favor torque and more
down-to-earth fuel economy can opt for the Cummings turbodiesel. Both units
have been updated and the petrol burner is apparently capable of putting down
500 PS, or up to 700 PS if the owner wants
an upgrade.
