With a little help from a small tuning company
called RaceChip, the Hyundai i30 N Performance has received a big power bump
that has made it more powerful than the latest Volkswagen Golf R. The i30 N benefits from an ECU upgrade,
which brings an extra 38 PS and 145 Nm of torque
over the stock 275 PS and 353 Nm of torque of the
Performance version.
And that’s not all, because with the addition of the
downpipe from HJS, RaceChip says their Hyundai i30 N Performance adds not just
an angrier soundtrack, but also a little more oomph, for a total 320 PS and 524 Nm of torque. We presume the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration drops in the mid-5 seconds, given that the stock i30 N
Performance can sprint to 100 km/h (in 6.1 seconds.
The power increase isn’t the only upgrade this i30 N
has, as RaceChip has also added an anti-roll kit from Eibach and new springs
that drop the ride height by 15 mm. It also sports a set of OZ
Leggera HLT rims, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and before taking
it out for a photo shoot and a short drive, the tuner turned to Schwabenfolia
where it received a rather subtle body wrap.
In order to promote its work, RaceChip has released
a couple of videos about their tuned i30N, which you can view right after the
break.
