McLaren’s latest
Super Series model, the 720S, is currently one of the fastest supercars on
Earth, yet this example just left the DMC workshop with a bunch of technical
and visual mods. Covering the former part are the new exhaust system and tuned
ECU, which lift the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine’s output to 755 PS and 780 Nm of torque.
DCM claims that
with the extra 35 PS and 10 Nm of torque, the McLaren
720S slashes one tenth of a second from the official 2.9 seconds required for
the 0 to 100 km/h sprint, whereas top speed probably remains the
same at 341 km/h. With the power bump completed, the tuner went on
adding a new front bumper with an attached apron that uses the original
mounting points and is made from carbon fiber. There are new side skirts as
well, and a copy of the original base wing made from the same lightweight
material sits at the back.
The German tuner
says that “McLaren’s Brake-Wing function still works”, and there are “no errors
when using the aerodynamic solution”. No interior upgrades are available, but
before rounding things up, DMC installed a new forged aluminum wheel set. The
9.5×20-inch front and 11×21-inch rear rims have a dark look and come with a set
of Pirelli tires, 245/30 and 305/25 in size, respectively.
DMC hasn’t
announced other possible future updates for the British supercar, but given
that their 570S comes with as much as 642 PS, it’s not
unreasonable to think they might be planning a more impressive power increase
for the 720S.
