The Mitsubishi
Outlander is getting a new petrol engine in UK.The new petrol version of the Mitsubishi
Outlander is powered by a 2.0-liter MIVEC four-cylinder engine that makes 148 hp and 195 Nm of torque. Paired to it is a CVT gearbox, which
offers “the stepped shifting of a conventional automatic under acceleration”
and strikes “an ideal balance between performance, refinement and economy under
normal driving conditions”.
As with all
versions of the Mitsubishi Outlander, power goes to an
electronically-controlled 4WD as standard. Driving modes include 4WD ECO for
better fuel economy, 4WD AUTO for normal driving conditions and 4WD LOCK for
low-grip driving conditions.
The petrol-powered Outlander is not going to pin you on the back of
your seat with its performance; Mitsubishi reckons it’ll do the 0-100 km/h in 13.3 seconds while top speed is set at 190 km/h. Fuel economy is a
combined 32.5 mpg UK on the latest WLTP test cycle.
The interior offers
room for seven, with the third row of seats being able to be independently
folded into the boot floor and the second row offering a sliding function for
maximum versatility. With all seats folded, the Mitsubishi Outlander offers
1,608lt of boot space.
The new petrol
Mitsubishi Outlander features the same revisions of the 2019 update, including
a new honeycomb front grille, new front lower bumper extension and headlamp design.
The rear bumper has also been revised while a new set of two-tone 18-inch alloy
wheels complete the exterior update.
Inside, the
Mitsubishi Outlander features more supportive front seats, better
soundproofing, a heated windscreen and the company’s latest infotainment system
with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. The standard list of equipment
also includes heated front seats, automatic lights and wipers, a rearview
camera and keyless operation.
Pricing for the new
petrol-powered Mitsubishi Outlander in the UK starts from £ 27,680 OTR for the
Juro trim level and from £ 29,680 OTR for the 4 Auto model, which adds things
like leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, an electric tailgate,
blind-spot warning, LED headlights and more.
