Nissan’s Nismo-branded variants are typically the
most performance-oriented versions of a particular model. However, the car
manufacturer has decided to turn the wick up on the Note e-POWER Nismo to make
it even faster. The result is the new Nissan Note e-POWER Nismo S, set to be
sold exclusively in Japan.
Nissan has outfitted the Note
e-POWER Nismo S with custom tuning for its inverter and vehicle control module,
increased electrical output, and improved reduction drive. These changes result
in 25 per cent more power and torque than the standard Nismo model. As a
result, the Nismo S delivers 134 hp and an impressive 320 Nm of torque from its hybrid powertrain.
Buyers of the Note e-POWER Nismo S will have a
multitude of driving modes at their disposal, varying from “outstanding
performance” to excellent fuel efficiency. Visual differences between the Nismo
S and the regular Note e-POWER Nismo are limited to new badges and LED
headlights.
Like the Nismo, the Nismo S is also upgraded over
run-of-the-mill Leaf models with a custom front bumper, new tailpipe, bespoke
suspension, strengthened front stabilizer, revised structural enhancements,
speed-sensing electric power-assisted steering, 16-inch aluminum wheels with
Yokohama DNA S tires, suede covered sports seats, aluminum accelerator and
brake pedals, and a custom aluminum footrest.
Pricing details for the Japanese market haven’t been
announced.
