The Japanese have a thing for giving their products
English names and Toyota makes no exception. Just check out how the carmaker
has decided to call its latest special versions of the Harrier SUV: the Harrier
Progress “Style Blueish” and the Harrier Progress “Metal and Leather Package –
Style Blueish.” On sale from September 3 throughout Japan, the similar models
feature blue accents on the inside as well as unique exterior styling cues.
Starting with the outside, the “Blueish” Harriers
feature black-painted 18-inch aluminum wheels with grey accents, smoked
headlights, and black protection trim on the lower part of the doors. Customers
can choose between two body colors: Black Mica and Sparkling Black Pearl
Crystal Shine.
The interior justifies the name of the special
edition models thanks to the blue wood trim on the dashboard and door cards,
blue seating surfaces, blue gearshift panel, and blue door switch panel.
Furthermore, blue stitching can be found pretty much everywhere inside the
Lexus RX-based vehicle: the seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, instrument
panel, and door cards. Topping it all off is the blue ambient lighting.
The Toyota Harrier Progress “Style Blueish” can be
had with either of the engine choices available on the standard model. Those
include a 151 PS 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine paired
with a Super CVT-i transmission, a 231 PS 2.0-liter turbo-four linked
to a six-speed Super ECT gearbox, and a 152 PS THS II hybrid.
All models are available with two-wheel-drive or
all-wheel-drive, except the hybrid which is AWD-only. Prices start from
3,810,240 yen (US$ 34,205) for the Harrier Progress “Style Blueish” and 4,160,160
yen (US$ 37,345) for the Harrier Progress “Metal and Leather Package – Style
Blueish.”
