Distributor of renowned Italian brand Vespa in
Malaysia, Naza Premira, has introduced three limited edition scooters – the
2018 Vespa 946 (RED), Vespa Sprint Carbon and Vespa Sei Giorni. Pricing for the
lifestyle scooters are RM66,000 for the 946 RED, RM17,400 for the Sprint Carbon
and RM38,000 for the Sei Giorni.
Created as a project for (RED), the global fund to
fight HIV/AIDS, the 946 (RED) carries a 125 cc, three-valve, single-cylinder
engine that drives a CVT gearbox. Every sale of a 946 (RED) triggers a donation
of 150 USD (RM620) to (RED) which buys 500 days of medication for a HIV/AIDS
victim.
Dressed in a shade of red unique to this model, the
946 (RED), like its sibling the 2016 Vespa 946 Emporio Armani, comes with steel
bodywork, complemented aluminium components such as the mudguard and side
covers. LED lighting is used throughout and a full LCD instrument panel can be
found inside the cockpit.
Targeted at the youth market is the Sprint Carbon,
powered by Vespa’s i-Get 150 cc air-cooled single-cylinder mill that produces
13.9 hp at 6,000 rpm. Coming in matte black paint with red accents, the Sprint
Carbon comes with a rectangular headlight and rolls on the 12-inch aluminium
alloy wheels.
Commemorating the Sei Giorni or Six Days race held
in 1951 in Varese, Italy, the Sei Giorni carries a 300 cc engine that produces
a claimed 21 hp at 7,750 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. Painted in Verde
Matt (Matte Green), the Sei Giorni is styled like the Vespa racing scooters of
the the 50s, with the headlamp mounted on the front mudguard and and a small
flyscreen mounted on the handlebars.
The seat on the Sei Giorni is styled to resemble the
single seat of a racing scooter and vent cutouts in the front fairing as well
as the exposed round-tube handlebar reflect this scooter’s racing heritage. All
three Vespa scooters come with ABS on the front and rear hydraulic disc brakes
and are available for viewing at selected authorised Vespa dealerships and outlets
in Malaysia.
