Tata Motors has released a new teaser video of the
new Tigor ahead of the official launch tomorrow. The latest video reveals the
punchline of the new Tigor's marketing campaign: “Renounce the world of
Desire”. The video uses a background and font style similar to those Maruti
Suzuki used for the Dzire with the tagline “A whole new world of Dzire”.
The new Tata Tigor will feature minor cosmetic
changes. On the outside, the sub-4 metre sedan will gain chrome finish
headlamps, partly clear-lens tail lamps, shark fin antenna, more chrome garnish
and a new navy blue colour called ‘Egyptian Blue’. The highlight of the
interior will be a 7.0-inch touchscreen system that replaces the current 5.0-inch
unit. It should offer Android Auto and
Apple CarPlay support.
A new ‘XZ+’ grade will become the range-topping trim
option. Only this grade will come with the new infotainment system.
Mechanically, the Tata Tigor will remain unchanged. The sub-4-metre sedan has
been on sale with two engines - 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre
Revotorq diesel. The former produces a maximum power of 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and
a peak torque of 114 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The latter outputs a maximum power of 70
PS at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm between 1,800-3,000 rpm. A 5-speed
manual transmission is standard on both the variants. An optional 5-speed AMT
is available on select trims.
The Tata Tigor in the new XZ+ grade is likely to
cost around INR 30,000 more than in the XZ grade (petrol: INR 6,18,126*/diesel:
INR 7,06,028*).
