For those customers who want their all-new BMW X5 to
look different from their neighbors’, the automaker offers a range of M
Performance Parts. The catalog includes sportier exterior and
interior elements, as well as performance parts. To improve the looks of the
2019 X5, BMW offers several carbon fiber add-on parts with a high-gloss finish.
At the front, the M Performance front winglet attached to the bumper and the M
Performance front air intake contribute to a more muscular appearance.
The side view is dominated by the 20-inch Star Spoke
748 M light alloy wheels in a Jet Black matt finish. Interestingly, the rims
feature all-terrain tires, something you wouldn’t expect to find on a BMW X5.
Obviously, you can have performance tires as well, mounted on wheels up to 22
inches big.
Behind the wheels, one can see the massive BMW
Performance 19-inch braking system with inner-vented and perforated discs and
red calipers. Also noticeable from the sides are the carbon fiber mirror caps
and the M Performance side sill foils in matt black with “M Performance”
lettering. The latter element is a visual trick that helps make the X5 more
slender than it actually is. Customers who don’t like the huge “hockey stick”
but still want people to know their X5 features M Performance Parts, can opt
for a less visible side skirt adhesive film in Frozen Black.
Moving on to the rear, the accessorized X5 boasts a
sizeable M Performance diffuser made from carbon fiber, as well as winglets
crafted from the same lightweight material. Both add visual muscle to the
Bavarian SUV.
The sporty theme continues inside with the M
Performance steering wheel and its 12 o’clock marking and carbon
fiber/Alcantara trim. The stainless steel pedal covers and M Performance floor
mats round off the upgrades.
Finally, BMW also offers an M Performance Drive
Analyser that consists of an OBD stick and a smartphone app. The system gives
the driver all the main driving dynamics data, offering logging and analysis options.
In other words, you can have a telemetry system on an SUV. This technology also
enables trip recording on a smartphone video camera, driving data logging and
route tracking based on GPS positioning. The M Performance Parts for the new
BMW X5 will be available from March 2019.
