The 2019 Hyundai Santro has started reaching dealer
stockyards, videos published by YouTube user Riderboy 46 have revealed. The
videos show a number of the car’s interior features, including the
segment-first rear AC vents.
Back in September 2013, the Hyundai Grand i10 was
the first model in its segment available with rear AC vents. Now, the 2019
Hyundai Santro is set to bring this feature to an even lower price segment. It
is equipped with power-adjustable mirrors, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment
system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link, and rear parking
camera as well.
The 2019 Hyundai Santro is about to set new safety
standards in its segment. It is equipped with rear parking sensors, driver and
co-driver SBR, ABS with EBD, driver airbag and speed alert system as standard.
Hyundai will sell the all-new Santro in two models:
petrol and petrol-CNG. Both use a 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine. In the petrol
model, this engine produces 69 PS and 99 Nm of torque and is linked to a
5-speed manual transmission or the 5-speed Smart Auto automated manual
transmission, which is a world-first for the South Korean automaker.
In the petrol-CNG model, the 1.1-litre four-cylinder
engine develops 59 PS and 84 Nm of torque. It sends drive to the wheels via a
5-speed manual transmission. The bi-fuel model’s fuel economy rating is 30.5
km/kg.
Based on the Grand i10 platform, the 2019 Hyundai
Santro will go on sale in India on 23 October with prices starting at INR 3.88
lakh*. It will compete with the Tata Tiago and Maruti Celerio.
