An all-new Ram Heavy Duty pickup is in the works, but the redesigned model won’t arrive until 2020. To help keep the current truck fresh, Ram has introduced the new Heavy Duty Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition.

Available as both a 2500 and 3500 model, the Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition is a luxury pickup with a Southwestern flair. The truck comes equipped with body-color bumpers and side steps as well as “Longhorn” badging on the tailgate. Most versions of the truck feature 20-inch aluminum wheels, but the 3500 dually variant has 17-inchers.

The truck is still pretty capable as the model has skid plates, a Mopar bed step and a 5th wheel/gooseneck trailer prep package. Other highlights include a bed-view camera and a rear air suspension which promises to improve ride comfort.

Luxury pickups are all about the interior and the Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition certainly doesn’t disappoint. Ram was surprisingly coy on details, but the special edition comes equipped with Black or Cattle Tan leather upholstery and a suede headliner. The truck also has wood trim, steel accents and an Uconnect infotainment system.

The Heavy Duty Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition will be available in Crew Cab and Mega Cab configurations with either rear- or four-wheel drive. All models come standard with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that produces 410 hp and 581 Nm of torque.

Customers can also order an optional 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel six-cylinder engine which develops up to 385 hp and 1218 Nm of torque. The truck will begin arriving at dealers shortly and pricing starts at US$ 60,790 for the 2500 variant and US$ 71,260 for the 3500 model. Both prices exclude a destination charge of US$ 1,695.
