The BMW 7-Series is
in for a makeover, the Alpina B7 is being updated as well.
Prototypes of the car have only recently started being scooped, and they wear
camouflage front and rear, making it hard to spot some of the design changes.
Nevertheless, that
massive grille is very visible, as are the reworked front and rear bumpers and
hood. Elsewhere, expect the 2020 Alpina B7 to benefit from restyled headlights
and taillights, and to ride on the tuner’s signature multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, things will
look similar to the facelifted BMW 7-Series, with new features such as the
infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and steering wheel.
Differentiating it from the regular versions of the flagship saloon will be a
host of different trims and, of course, the Alpina badging.
The twin-turbo
4.4-liter V8 will likely be carried over, but it’s unknown whether it will
deliver more power. The current B7 comes with 600 PS and 880
Nm of torque, hits 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and tops out at
310 km/h, so it’s not that it’s lacking in that department. Alpina is
believed to officially unveil the updated B7 next year, after the revamped
7-Series’ premiere at the Geneva Auto Show.
