BMW just revealed the all-new 3 Series sedan here at
the 2018 Paris Auto Show. And performance enthusiasts know what that means: a
new M3 is on the way. It may be a while before we get to see it, but this gives
us a pretty good idea of what to expect – at least visually.
Hot on the heels of the standard sedan, the Bavarian
automaker has released a series of M Performance Parts for the new 3, giving
the latest rendition of the benchmark sports sedan an even sportier look and
feel, both inside and out.
Developed by BMW M GmbH – the automaker’s in-house
performance division – the new range of parts includes a full aero kit made up
of ten individual components. There’s a front splitter, rear diffuser, rear
spoiler, side sills, mirror caps, and more – all available in either gloss
black or bare carbon.
There’s a set of tailpipes made of a mix of carbon
fiber and titanium, and wheels in 18- and 20-inch diameters, packing oversized
brake discs with four-piston aluminum calipers.
Inside, there’s more upgrades on offer, including a
sportier steering wheel, carbon-fiber shift paddles (for the automatic
transmission), carbon-fiber interior trim, special floor mats, and projectors
displaying the M (or other) logo on the tarmac next to the vehicle.
There’s even an Alcantara and carbon-fiber key
wallet as well to take a bit of the performance flair with you even after
exiting the vehicle, and a telematics data analyzer and action-camera mount for
track days. All of which add up to a sportier take on the new 3 Series, and
whet our appetites all the more for the forthcoming new M3 and other M
Performance models that are sure to follow.
