If you’re wondering whether BMW’s appetite for
crossovers of all styles and sizes has been satisfied with the introduction of
the new X7, well, the answer is likely not, as rumors have been swirling about
a super-luxurious big brother to the sportier X2, X4 and X6,
the X8. Speculated to arrive withing the next two years, the X8 will
essentially be an X7 with a sloping roofline, following in the footsteps of the
smaller X4 and X6 SAVs.
Base models are expected to arrive with seating for
five, whereas upper specs should benefit from a couple of second-row captain’s
chairs, cutting the passenger hauling ability to four. BMW is said to have trademarked
the X8 moniker earlier this year. As it very often happens when automakers
present new products, the X7 in this case, rendering artists go wild in trying
to predict how future vehicles might look like, based on existing offers.
Shared at the bottom of the page are a few of
renderings that popped up after the introduction of the X7. Penned by XTomi and
Aksyonov Nikita, they try to give us an insight on what the rumored BMW X8
could look like. Only time will tell if they’re on the right track.
