Ford Freestyle,
which was launched in India on 26 April 2018, has reportedly received a Trend+
trim for the petrol engine variant. Reportedly, The new grade has an
ex-showroom price of INR 6.13 lakh**.
The new trim slots between the Trend (INR 6.09
lakhs**) and the Titanium (INR 6.58 lakhs**) options with the petrol engine
variant. Thanks to the close price positioning of the Trend and the Trend+
trim, the company is expected to rejig the trims and the associated feature
packages. If true, Ford could drop the 7-inch FLY infotainment unit and Reverse
Camera from the Trend variant.
The Ford Freestyle is available with two engine
options - 1.2-litre three-cylinder NA petrol and 1.5-litre four-cylinder
turbocharged diesel. The petrol motor outputs a maximum power of 96 PS and with
a peak torque of 120 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An
automatic variant could be on the cards. The oil-burner produces a maximum
power of 100 PS along with a peak torque of 215 Nm. The only transmission on
offer is a 5-speed manual unit.
Standard safety net across all the trims comprises
dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and rear fog lamp.
Furthermore, the top-spec Titanium+ model features side and curtain airbags,
automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, Ford MyKey and 6.5-inch SYNC3
touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
