Hennessey has released
another Heritage Edition model, this time based on the F-150 pickup. As with the pony car, the truck
features a livery inspired by that of the Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition.
Surprisingly, the red paint with white stripes and racing numbers on the front
doors suit the F-150 quite well. But that’s hardly the only change made to the
full-size truck.
The Heritage Edition F-150 also features Hennessey
exterior badging, serial numbered dash and engine plaques, as well as
embroidered headrests. And that’s not all, as customers can have the flashy
truck in two different flavors: Sport Kit Upgrade and Off-Road Upgrade.
The former brings a lowering kit, 22-inch wheels
shod with performance tires, sway bars and a Brembo braking system. The latter
package comes with new bumpers (with LED fog lights at the front), 20-inch
10-spoke wheels shod with 35-inch Toyo Off-Road tires, and a front suspension
leveling kit. As a result of all these modifications, overall lift is 76 mm.
Only 2018 Ford F-150s equipped with the 5.0-liter V8
qualify for Hennessey’s upgrade. Highlighting the mechanical modifications is a
2.9-liter supercharger that helps increase power to 757 hp at 7,000 rpm –
comfortably more than the GT’s 647 hp. Other engine tweaks include increased
boost pressure, air-to-water intercooler, high-flow air induction, as well as
upgrades to the fuel injectors and fuel system.
There’s also a stainless steel cat-back exhaust
system that provides a phenomenal tune to the F-150’s tuned V8 and definitely
beats the F-150 Raptor at this game — just check the video for reference.
