With just a few
days to go, automakers from around the world have been revealing their lineups
for this year’s SEMA show. And Honda is among the latest.
Perhaps the most
intriguing of the vehicles that the Japanese automaker has lined up for this
year’s tuner expo is called the Honda Rugged Open Air Vehicle Concept,
ostensibly taking the form of a Jeep Wrangler or Land Rover Defender-like
off-roader.
Unfortunately,
Honda isn’t telling us much more about “this unique concept vehicle,” but it
has detailed the rest of its SEMA slate. One is this rather
splendid camper truck. The Ridgeline Overland Project is based on the Black
Edition of Honda’s pickup truck, but features a Roof Nest pop-up top along with
a slate of off-road equipment to let you sleep under the stars regardless of
the proximity of your chosen camp site to paved roads.
Developed with Jsport
Performance Accessories, it features skid plates, off-road tires, a leveling
kit, side steps, equipment racks, and even an onboard generator. What’s more,
Honda says the Ridgeline Overland will “soon be available for purchase.”
