Okinawa Scooters has launched the Okinawa Ridge+
electric scooter in India. It has been priced at INR 64,988 (ex-showroom
Delhi). The highlight of the Okinawa Ridge+ is its detachable lithium-ion
battery, which powers the 800-watt, waterproof Brushless DC (BLDC) electric
motor. The electric scooter comes with a claimed riding range of 120 km on a
single charge, while it has a claimed top speed of 55 km/h.
The Okinawa Ridge+ is available in two colour
options - Lucent Orange/Magna Grey and Midnight Blue. The e-scooter can take a
maximum payload of 150 kg. The new EV becomes the third offering from the
company in India after the Okinawa Ridge and the Okinawa Praise.
The lithium-ion battery pack on the Okinawa Ridge+
can be fully charged in two hours with a with a micro-charger and auto cut-off.
The Ridge+ comes with a host of safety features like central locking, keyless
entry, Anti-theft alarm, an electronic-assisted braking system (E-ABS) with
energy regeneration, and a Find My Scooter function, which allows to remotely
locate scooter.
Potential customers can book the Okinawa Ridge+
across all company dealerships in the country. Okinawa claims that 500 units of
the Ridge+ are ready to be rolled out in October, while another 1,500 units
will be rolled out next month. The company also plans to increase its rollout
capacity in the coming months.
