It took O.CT Tuning
some serious software and hardware optimizations to significantly transform
this Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. The 3.8-liter flat-six that powers the
991-2 iteration of the German sports car has received two exhaust gas
turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, two intercoolers, two altered air
intakes, a high-performance air filter and some software optimization that
includes the transmission, too.
With all the
upgrades in place, the six-banger produces an impressive 669 PS and 880 Nm of torque. The extra oomph
allows this 911 Turbo S to sprint from rest to 100 km/h in just 2.69
seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 9.12 seconds. Top speed has also
increased to 335 km/h.
In comparison, the
stock car with its 580 PS sprints to 100 km/h in 3.0
seconds, and to 96 km/h in 2.9 seconds. O.CT is also offering the same
power upgrade for the non-S 911 Turbo, whose 3.8-liter unit has to make do with
only 540 PS from the factory. This flavor of the car is 0.1
sec slower to 100 km/h than the ‘S’ versions.
Thankfully, the
tuner has chosen not to mess around with the look of the 911, nor with its
handling, and the only upgrade offered as an option is a new exhaust system.
