Tata Motors has
fully revealed the Harrier's exterior. The company's new flagship SUV will
reach the showrooms in January 2019. The Tata Harrier sports sleek LED
DRLs that are a part of a Euro-style two-tier front light setup that is
becoming popular among global SUVs. The headlights are set at the mid-level,
and the fog lamps are positioned right below them. The prominent three-part
grille layout and the large bumper design perfectly complements the aggressive
front light setup.
On the sides, the sleek greenhouse that gets
noticeably narrower behind the rear door gives a very dynamic look to the Tata
Harrier. As promised during the IMPACT 2.0 design language announcement, the
SUV has a strong fender volume, which gives it a very imposing presence. At the
rear, the sleek tail lamps reminiscent of Jaguar SUVs float out onto the
shoulders, emphasising the width of the SUV.
Powering the Tata Harrier is a 2.0-litre
‘Kroytec’diesel engine, which is a renamed 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged
four-cylinder unit made by FCA. It develops a maximum power of 140 PS, and it
will come paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a Hyundai-sourced
6-speed automatic transmission.
Tata Motors is working on upgrading the dealerships
to offer a more premium buying experience customers will expect for its most
expensive model that will cost anywhere from around INR 16-21 lakh OTR. It has
started accepting pre-bookings on a dedicated website and at dealerships, for
an amount of INR 30,000.
