Tata Motors has invited media to the launch of a new model on 10
October 2018. In all likeliness, the company will launch a special edition Tata
Tigor.
Like the recently
launched Tata Nexon Kraz, the special edition Tata Tigor could carry unique
styling elements and extra features. In June 2018, Tata Motors launched the
limited-edition Tigor Buzz, which offered several distinct styling features,
such as Berry Red highlights and glossy black roof wrap. A similar theme was
found on the inside. The limited-run model featured a piano black trim and
Berry Red highlights. While it was based on the XE trim, it offered the
equipment that is available on the XT variant.
Mechanically, the
special edition Tata Tigor wont' have any changes. The sub-4-metre sedan has
been available with two engine options -
1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel. The petrol
motor is a three-cylinder unit that outputs a maximum power of 85 PS at 6,000
rpm and a peak torque of 114 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The three-cylinder diesel engine,
on the other hand, produces a maximum power of 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and a peak
torque of 140 Nm between 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both the motors come mated to a
5-speed manual transmission. A 5-speed AMT is optional but is unlikely to be
offered on the limited-run model.
