The Toyota Passo has been given a mild facelift, with most of the updates being aesthetic in nature. The bulk of the visual changes are reserved for the more fashionable Moda model, which receives a huge front grille, L-shaped fog light bezels and a new Brilliant Copper Crystal Mica paint option.

The range-topping G Package model also gets an optional appearance package that adds a new 10-spoke alloy wheel design, additional LED positioning lights in the fog light bezels, part-synthetic leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped gearknob. The standard X model remains largely unchanged, with a silver strip on top of the grille being the only new addition.

Elsewhere, Toyota has added the new Smart Assist III active safety system, which adds pedestrian detection for the autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system and auto high beam. Front and rear parking sensors have also been made standard equipment, while a 360-degree camera system is available as an option on Moda variants in conjunction with a dealer-fitted navigation system.

Mechanicals remains unchanged, so the Passo soldiers on with the same 1.0 litre 1KR-FE three-cylinder petrol engine as before, making 69 PS at 6,000 rpm and 92 Nm at 4,400 rpm and paired only to a CVT. A choice of either front- or all-wheel drive is available.
