Mercedes-Benz has
announced that the 2019 GLE is now available to order in Germany, with a
starting price of € 65,807 (US$ 75,021) for the base 300d 4Matic.
The GLE 300d 4Matic
uses the brand’s 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel, rated at 245 PS and 500 Nm of torque. This version of the full-sized SUV
consumes between 6.1 and 6.4 liters of diesel per 100 km (46.3-44.1 mpg UK /
38.6-36.8 mpg US) on average, and emits 169-161 g/km of CO2.
Opting for the GLE
450 4Matic requires spending at least € 72,649.50 (US$ 82,821). The mild-hybrid
model is powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol engine, which makes 367 PS and 500 Nm of torque. An additional 22 PS and 250 Nm of torque are available over short periods of
time from the EQ Boost function. Its average fuel consumption is 8.3-9.4 l/100
km (34-30 mpg UK / 28.3-25 mpg US), and CO2 emissions are rated at 214-190
g/km.
A multitude of
features are available for the all-new GLE, which, depending on the selected
flavor of the SUV, can significantly increase its price. For example, the
Off-Road Technology package, with reworked all-wheel drive, low-range gearbox
and off-road ABS € 2,261 (US$ 2,578) for the GLE 450, the trailer hitch adds
another € 1,142.40 (US$ 1,302), and the Trailer Assist is € 416.50 (US$ 475).
The long options
list includes stuff like the Energizing Package, Driving Assistance Package,
Driving Assistance Package Plus, electrically-adjustable second row of seats,
third-row, Multibeam LED headlights, Magic Vision Control, heated front
windscreen and Burmester premium sound system.
