Images from a Chinese government website have leaked
online showing off the design of the facelifted 2020 Buick LaCrosse. These leaked images from Auto Verdict reveal that the new
model’s exterior design will be a welcome change from the existing car’s
bloated and unappealing look.
Viewed from the front, the new LaCrosse shares a host
of similarities with the smaller Regal, also sold as the Holden Commodore in
Australia and the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia in Europe. Key similarities include
the headlights and grille.
The rear of the refreshed Buick LaCrosse also looks
very familiar thanks to near-identical taillights to those of the Regal. The
most obvious point of difference between the two is that the LaCrosse adopts a
chrome accent running the width of the rear fascia and splitting the
taillights. The larger LaCrosse pictured also comes complete with dual
tailpipes and what appears to be a slim reversing light between them.
As the LaCrosse pictured is the Chinese-spec model,
it’s hard to know if the U.S. model will look exactly the same. Considering the bold new exterior
look, it’s likely that the updated LaCrosse will adopt an overhauled interior.
Possible areas of modification include the steering wheel, dashboard,
infotainment display, and seats.
In terms of powertrains, we expected to see an inline-four
mild-hybrid option offered alongside a V6.
