The Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer has just been launched in Malaysia, priced at RM 149,888 on-the-road without insurance, and replaces the outgoing model previously known with the ‘Picasso’ suffix.

Changes include a new front bumper design, which features two separate air inlets, with the upper section resembling that of the most recent Berlingo and the lower one having horizontal slats that lead into chrome trim pieces that mark the corners where the circular fog lamps are located.

The slim LED daytime running lights (DRLs) have been retained, and continue to blend smoothly into the extended end of the Citroën logo. The main headlamps clusters are located below the DRLs, while the clusters themselves have been reshaped. The visual changes on the exterior are mostly limited to the front, and as for rolling stock, 17-inch ‘Boa’ alloys feature here.

Familiarity continues as a theme inside the Grand C4 SpaceTourer, and the driver’s instrumentation remains in its central location atop the dashboard, comprising a 12-inch digital display directly above a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which has been updated to support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink.

Further conveniences include a 360-degree surround view system, reverse camera, dual-zone automatic climate control in front and air vents for the second (pillar-mounted dual-zone blower control) and third rows (roof-mounted single-zone blower control), plus a powered tailgate with hands-free operation.

Safety kit gets an upgrade with the addition of Active Safety Brake which works up to 30 km/h to prevent collisions, joined by Speed Limit Recognition and Driver Attention Alert. As with the pre-facelift, the seven-seater continues to feature six airbags, traction control, ABS with EBD and BA, hill start assist and three Isofix child seat mounting points in the second row.

Motive power comes courtesy of 1.6 litre THP turbo petrol, here providing 167 PS and 240 Nm of torque sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Claimed fuel economy for the Grand C4 SpaceTourer is 5.8 litres per 100 km.

Four exterior colours are available for the Grand C4 SpaceTourer – Ruby Red, Lazuli Blue, Onyx Black, and Polar White, and each purchase is supported by a five-year/120,000-km warranty, three years of free service, 24-hour roadside assistance as well as access to the Sky Lounge at Subang Skypark.
