Following the mid-year updates made in spring, the
Nissan Rogue Sport switches to the 2019 model year with newly-available
technology and a slight price bump.
The base 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport S with front-wheel
drive is priced from US$ 22,240, marking a US$ 130 price increase over the equivalent
2018.5 model. Nissan explains the higher starting price with the addition of
the Rear Door Alert system as a standard feature on all grades and an updated
audio system with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Speaking of grades, the Rogue Sport continues to be
available in S, SV, and SL trim levels, each offering all-wheel drive as an
option. New for 2019, Nissan has revised the SV Technology Package and SL
Premium Package and has introduced a new body color called Scarlet Ember
Tintcoat.
But the big news is the availability of more
technology for the 2019 Rogue Sport, highlighted by ProPilot Assist and Nissan
Safety Shield 360. Standard on the 2019 Rogue Sport SL and available on the SV,
the ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving system reduces the driver’s input
under certain driving conditions, such as single-lane highway driving.
Standard on Rogue Sport SV and SL grades, the Nissan
Safety Shield 360 groups several driver assistance features. Those include
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking,
Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic
Alert, and High Beam Assist (HBA).
Other optional extras available on the 2019 Rogue
Sport include Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane
Departure Warning, and Intelligent Lane Intervention. As before, the only powertrain is
a 141-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine hooked to an Xtronic
CVT.
