Dubai is home to some of the fastest cars in the
world. Time and again we’ve seen its police force get outfitted with
supercar-chasing patrol vehicles, including the 700 hp/960 Nm Brabus B63S-700
Widestar, as well as a Lamborghini Aventador and Bugatti Veyron.
However, its latest patrol car really takes things
up a couple notches. Meet the Ghiath Beast Patrol SUV, dubbed as one of the
most advanced police vehicles in the world. It is equipped with artificial
intelligence systems featuring facial recognition technology, and it even has a
touchscreen dashboard, suicide doors, emergency lights in the grille, roof and
tailgate, as well as an automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR).
The facial recognition technology is a deployable system which can be raised through the
roof, and it’s also operable while cruising. The patrol vehicle also features
an extremely futuristic and state-of-the-art communication system which is
directly linked to the command operations room.
As for the SUV itself, it’s produced by W Motors,
the same people that brought you the 404 km/h Lykan HyperSport supercar. It’s unclear if the Ghiath is a one-off model, but it was built
from General Motors’ parts bin. Nothing is known about its performance as yet,
although going by the sheer looks alone, it’d be silly to think that it’s slow.
