Honda has revealed the Jazz Mugen concept at the
Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS). The show car is based on a Grade
V variant of the Jazz facelift, and is finished in Passion Red Pearl, which was
first seen on the facelifted HR-V in its RS variant form.
As its name suggests, the display vehicle gets the
Mugen dress-up treatment. It does however have a number of different components
to that see on the Mugen accessories prototype from the car’s launch last year.
Carryovers from the accessories pack are the rear
bumper extension, Mugen logo on the front grille and the tailgate spoiler, and
the 17-inch Mugen two-tone alloys -wrapped with 205/45 profile tyres – also
make their way on.
The Mugen concept’s front bumper is new, the rather
imposing unit featuring a distinctive three-hole cutout for DRLs (but with only
two utilised each side) on the lower sides – it looks very much a case of love
it or not. There’s also a secondary rear mid-mounted spoiler extension, finished
in black.
Unlike the prototype, the
concept doesn’t feature the windowline sticker strip, and it also doesn’t
feature the twin exhaust pipe finishers seen previously. No changes inside the
show car, unlike with the accessories prototype.
There’s indication that the concept will make it
into the market eventually, as will the Passion Red Pearl for the Jazz, though
in all likelihood it may be tied only to the special variant. Word is also that
the interior of the series vehicle will feature some dedicated Mugen trim and
kit.
