At Perodua’s KL
International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2018 booth, Perodua Myvi GT is out in
the open without any cover. The others displays are Perodua X-Concept and the
boxed peep hole display of the company’s new SUV.
The Myvi GT is an eye-catching sporty concept of how
the current Myvi might look like as a “hot hatch”. The front bumper is an
aggressive thing, with full-width mesh treatment and a prominent front splitter
with a red pinstripe. The latter is repeated on the side skirts and lower rear
bumper – a red line is also on the grille and goes into the headlamps, Mk7 Golf
GTI-style. LED daytime running lamp strips sit above the “side intakes”.
On the sides, the wheel arches are more pronounced on
the GT, and there’s even a sunroof. The car’s low stance goes well with the
17-inch Y-spoke gunmetal rims wrapped with 205/40 Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003
rubber.
Of course, no one would miss the Brembo calipers
(two-pot front, single-pot rear) gripping cross-drilled brake discs. The rear
end features a bold tailgate spoiler and twin exhaust pipes that poke out from
the bumper. There’s also an F1-style brake light in between.
It’s a dark cabin full of red accents. Bright red
features on the upper dashboard surround, gear lever surround, and the lever
itself. The bucket seats sport red centre spines to match the above-mentioned.
Red stitching can be found on the seats, door cards and steering wheel, which
looks very VW. Alcantara is dominant here, and can be found covering the
dashboard, seats, steering wheel and door inserts.
