Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has just released
additional images and information regarding its retro 006 Coupe and 006 Spyder
sports cars. First previewed in July, the two models take design inspiration from
some of the most iconic cars of the 1960s and will utilize bodies made
exclusively from carbon fiber. Some of the most eye-catching design elements of
the two models include elongated hoods, sculpted wheel arches, and side-exiting
tailpipes.
Powering the 006 Coupe and 006 Spyder will be the
same 650 hp, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine as the current Corvette Z06. A
six-speed manual transmission will be paired to the engine as standard but
customers will have the option of a system with paddle shifters.
Once the road-going 006 Coupe and 006 Spyder launch,
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus intends on creating a GT4-spec race car,
potentially dubbed the 006C.
The company hasn’t said how many units of the 006
models it intends on building but says that the car will be street-legal in 49
states across the United States. SCG has started to accept deposits for the
vehicle, starting at 10 per cent of a predicted US$ 250,000 starting price.
To say Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has a lot on its
plate would be an understatement. Not only is the company working to bring the
two 006 models to life but it is also working on a Nissan GT-R-powered supercar
dubbed the SCG004, offered in both road-going S and track-only CS guises.
What’s more, the firm intends on building a hypercar dubbed the 007 for the new
Le Mans hypercar class. It will also be sold as a street-legal model.
Additionally, there is a 005 off-roader in the works.
