The prices for Spain and the UK market of KTM’s
latest adventure tourer motorcycles, the 790 Adventure and the 790 Adventure R
were revealed via the Facebook page Adventure Attack. According to the social
media page, the 790 Adventure will be available for € 12,399 or
£ 11,099 while the R badge model will be available at a premium
and will retail for € 13,299 or £ 11,999.
The production-ready KTM 790 Adventure duo made
their debut at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The 790 Adventure range is developed in close
collaboration with the KTM Factory Racing team alongside the KTM 450 Rally
bike. Both motorcycles use the same 799cc, LC8c, parallel-twin engine that is
also seen on the 790 Duke. The engine on the Adventure spec models is tuned to
deliver 95 bhp of maximum power and comes mated to a six-speed transmission
with slipper clutch. Stopping power comes from twin rotors up front with
radially mounted 4-piston KTM callipers and a single disc at the rear with
2-piston callipers.
The comprehensive electronic package includes
ride-by-wire throttle, multi-level traction control system, selectable riding
modes, quick shifter and switchable ABS with Enduro mode. Both versions feature
fully adjustable long-travel front suspension from WP along with compression
and rebound damping-adjustable WP PDS mono-shock at the rear.
A unique feature on the KTM 790 Adventure is the
placement of the fuel tank that sits on either side of the engine. The design
is aimed for improved mass centralisation, higher ground clearance and lower
seat height. Other off-road spec components on the motorcycle are the 21-inch
front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels that are wrapped in dual-purpose
tyres.
