On December 13, Suzuki Motorcycle India had
commenced bookings for the 2019 Hayabusa for a token amount of INR 1 lakh.
Today Suzuki announced the launch of the 2019 Hayabusa in India. The 2019
edition of Suzuki Hayabusa will be available in two new colour options –
Metallic Oort Gray and Glass Sparkle Black with updated graphics, and an added
pair of side reflectors for Indian conditions and will be available across all
Suzuki Big Bike dealerships for INR 13,74,364 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Hayabusa is powered with 1340cc four-stroke,
fuel injected, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 194 bhp of maximum
power and is claimed to deliver a broad wave of torque for effortless
acceleration. Suzuki has pulled the plug on the Hayabusa nearly 20 years after the
hyperbike made its debut, and sales will continue until stocks last. Thus, if
you have an inclination towards the styling of the current generation model,
now is the right time to bring home one.
Meanwhile, the next-gen Hayabusa is reportedly in
the works, and it is expected to debut within two years. A glimpse of the new
Hayabusa’s design was showcased via the Concept GSX back in 2015. The new model
is expected to pack more power with a bigger engine that would take on the Kawasaki’s
1441cc ZX-14R (called ZZ-R1400 in certain markets).
Suzuki reportedly plans to introduce at least ten
new models globally over the next three years, and the new Hayabusa will most
definitely be one of them. Suzuki has also reportedly applied for new trademark
rights for clothing and merchandise.
