There are a lot of
folks out there that like the odd style of the Toyota Prius and buy the hybrid
for its fuel efficiency. There are some folks in cold weather states that won’t
even look at a car that lacks all-wheel-drive. To target those AWD fans, Toyota
announced the 2019 Prius with an AWD-e option.
Pricing on the car
has now been announced, and the cheapest AWD Prius will start at US$ 27,300 with
the destination charge. The cheapest Prius model all around is the Prius L Eco
FWD that starts at US$ 24,690, the next step up is the LE at US$ 25,900, and the XLR
at US$ 28,740.
The high-end model
is the Limited starting at US$ 33,120. AWD versions can be had on LE at US$ 27,300,
XLE AWD versions start at US$29,740. If you are wondering the AWD-e cars have
another electric motor that powered the rear wheels and AWD isn’t on all the
time. It activates between 0 and 6 mph or when needed at speeds up to 43 mph.
