The Isuzu MU-X was
put on display at the 2018 Thai Motor Expo in a regular as well as a customised
avatar. The refreshed version of the Toyota Fortuner rival has been on sale in
Thailand in a price bracket of 1,040,000 baht to 1,420,000 baht. The mid-cycle facelift for the Isuzu MU-X brought along a pair
of stylish LED projector headlamps with LED DRL strips, a bolder front bumper,
new 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 255/60 R18 tires, and LED taillights.
The
customised MU-X on display at the motor show sports a dual-tone orange-black
paint scheme, sportier bumpers, multi-spoke alloy wheels shod with low profile
tires, a gloss-black finish on the front grille, and grey side skirts and wheel
arch cladding.
The interiors of
the 2017 Isuzu MU-X units on display at the motor show carry a black base
colour theme with faux brushed aluminium trim. The Kenwood touchscreen system
of the pre-facelift has made way a new 8-inch touchscreen head unit with
smartphone mirroring options.
The Thailand-spec
Isuzu MU-X (facelift) is available in two turbocharged diesel engine options -
RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre and 4JJ1-TCX
3.0-litre. The former outputs a maximum power of 150 PS) and a peak torque of
350 Nm, while the latter delivers 177 PS and 380 Nm. The smaller oil-burner
comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. A 6-speed Rev Tronic
automatic unit is available with both the engine options.
