Geely’s Lynk &
Co new-age mobility company has released a series of intriguing vehicles in the
past couple of years as it looks to establish itself. One body style which Lynk
& Co has yet to produce is a coupe. The renderings you
see here are the work of designer Tianbo Ma and depict a sexy two-door with the
Lynk & Co nameplate.
In creating the
vehicle, Ma looked at a series of trends in California and wanted to create a
vehicle catered towards young couples who own dogs. Consequently, the Lynk
& Co coupe needed to have enough room for two adult passengers, pets, and
luggage. The only solution was to fit a compact electric powertrain that allows
for storage both ahead and behind the cockpit.
What these
requirements have led to is a coupe with much more storage space than existing
vehicles of this sort. For example, there is a large frunk, storage spaces
behind the front wheels, and a large hatchback-style trunk at the rear that can
easily fit a couple of (small) dogs.
From a styling
standpoint, the vehicle looks quite different from current Lynk & Co
models. For example, it doesn’t feature the rounded headlights we’re used to
seeing and instead utilizes thin LED strips around a series of air vents. The
rear is also unique and includes small taillights as well as brake lights that
stretch up the alongside the rear window.
