Even though the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon will host a
lot of heavily customized cars, we have a feeling this Toyota 86-based
Lamborghini Urus pickup will stand out a great deal. Responsible for this street-legal
machine, which for now, we only see in this sketch that the company shared with
us, are the talented folks over at Nihon Automobile College (NATS).
Built on the latest Toyota 86, it’s body has been
transformed to include a Lamborghini Urus-inspired design and a truck bed
behind the front seats, which has been stretched out considerably so as to
match the Lambo SUV front end aesthetic. We also spot custom side skirts
and a set of FUEL OFFROAD wheels which measure 20-inches front and rear, and
are reportedly wrapped in NITTO TERRAGRAPPLER 265/50/R20 rubber.
Unlike a real Lamborghini Urus, this so-called
‘Super Sports Pickup Truck’ is powered by a modified version of the Toyota 86’s
(and Subaru BRZ’s) 2.0-liter unit with 270 PS and 304 Nm of torque at its disposal. It’s also fitted with a TRUST GReddy T517Z Turbo
Kit. Of course, it pales in comparison to the Urus’ 4.0-liter twin turbocharged
V8 engine, which produces 650 PS and 850 Nm of torque.
Either way, we can’t wait to feast our eyes on the real-life
NATS Urus 86 at the Tokyo salon that runs from January 11 through 13, 2019.
