Turbocharger (eVGT), the powertrain delivers 140 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm
of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. An optional
Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission is likely to be
introduced in 2019.
Underpinning the
Tata Harrier is the 'Omega Arc' platform that is derived from Jaguar Land
Rover's L550 architecture. The front suspension of the new model has been
carried over from the Discovery Sport, while at the rear, it features a more
cost-effective torsion-beam setup instead of the donor vehicle's multi-link
aluminium unit.
